EEB1 – Talent Show 2026

A show of linguistic and cultural diversity

It is the eve of the auditions and excitement is rising. Bands are rehearsing their songs, dancers are nailing down their choreography. The halls of Michelangelo are filled with anticipation and nerves as contestants are called in for their turns one by one.

It is Thursday, 5th of February 2026, and courageous students present themselves to be a part of the EEB1 2026 school Talent Show. The music rooms are occupied by talented musicians and outside the classes are breakdancers, spinning around the corridors. In the judges’ room, instruments and microphones are at the ready, waiting for our pupils to impress them with their skills. Each audition is carefully listened to and observed, and the judges’ scattered seating around the room and kind and honest feedback allows for a calm and less stressful ambience. After her audition, a student confirms, ‘I was happy with how the auditions went.’

This year, the jury puts a special emphasis on linguistic and cultural diversity, particularly appreciating acts which showed those. Our students have come up with clever ways of knitting these aspects into their performances. A notable mention would be a student who’s song was sung in sign language! He shares he learned it specifically for the show, proving the students of this school to be creative and dedicated. Or, a dance in which a ballerina and hip-hop dancer meet each other, and through the music learn they may be different and still come together, highlighting the diversity in the ‘languages’ of music. There are also many different kinds of acts, like DJ-ing and playing piano.

Our students’ diverse backgrounds highlight the cultural diversity our school has to offer; competitors come from all across Europe from countries like Italy, Croatia, Hungary, Belgium, France, Poland, Malta, Lithuania with roots around the entire world. Moreover, the auditions include cultural diversity through their preformances. One band, for instance, presents  the culture of metal music, playing 2 different metal genres.

Presenters for the Talent Show are hard at work, too. Throughout the auditions, the presenters make notes of all the acts so as to be able to give each talent its unique grand entrance. They focus on who the competitor is and what they will show, refining the show-day script.

Being a part of the Talent Show will be a fun experience. Even if one is not on stage, everyone has the privilege to be watching. Seeing our school’s talent, enthusiasm and confidence in stage is an event we may have every two years, so join us on the 20th of March 2026 in the music hall Acte 3 in Braine L’Alleud  to celebrate our school and all it’s diversities! For the tickets, come to Vie Scolaire.
