The EC GAELIC CLUB BRUSSELS’s visit to Madrid, Spain during the Halloween holidays for a Gaelic football tournament
During the Halloween holidays around 35 Gaelic football players from the EC GAELIC CLUB BRUSSELS travelled to Madrid, Spain to take part in a Gaelic football tournament hosted by MADRID HARPS GAA CLUB.
The teams taking part were MADRID HARPS GAA CLUB , the EC GAILIC CLUB BRUSSELS, THOMAS DAVIS GAA CLUB from Tallaght in Dublin and GALICIA GAA CLUB also from Spain.
The people who took part in the tournament from our school (EEB1) were Gregor G. (S3ENA) and Jack H.(S3ENB). There were also players that took part from other European schools in Brussels and many other schools. The age groups that were playing were U9s, U11s, U13s and U15s.
The average player taking part played at least 3 matches on the day.
The weather was wonderful at around 25 degrees Celsius.
Many spectacular goals and points were scored but the tournament was in a blitz format so at the end of the day there were no winners or losers. In the evening on the day of tournament there was a delicious meal for all the youths who took part and all the parents, siblings ,friends and relatives that travelled to enjoy the day.
Medals were presented to all the youths that took part in the matches and they were also rewarded with a packet of HARIBO sweets.

Sna laethanta saoire i Samhain 2017 chuaigh an foireann peile gaeligh EC GAELIC CLUB BRUSSELS go Madrid chun chomórtas peil gaelach óstáilte a imirt sa chlub MADRID HARPS GAA.
B’iad na fóirne a ghlac páirt ná MADRID HARPS GAA, EC GAELIC CLUB BRUSSELS,THOMAS DAVIS GAA CLUB ó Thamhlacht i mBaile Átha Cliath agus GALICIA GAA.
I measc na grúpaí go léir chuaigh daltaí ó EEB1 go Madrid don chomortas peile – Gregor G. ó S3ENA agus Jack H. ó S3ENB agus chuaigh a lán páistí ó na scoileanna Europacha eile sa Bhruséil.
Na haois grúpaí a bhí ag imirt ná faoi-9,faoi-11,faoi-13 agus faoi-15. Bhí an lá go hiontach , d’imir gach duine trí chluiche ar a laghad agus bhí sé an-ghrianmhar an t-am ar fad – cúig chéim is fiche ar a laghad.
Ar oíche an chomórtais d’ith gach duine béile le chéile agus ba mhór an spraoí do gach duine é. Fuair gach duine bonn ór agus mála milseán tar éis na béile.
