A trip to the Google offices
On the 29th of February, my ICT class along with some others visited the Google offices in Brussels. During our visit there, we were given a presentation by two employees from Google. During the presentation, we learned a bit about the company, its history, and how it has evolved over the years. We learned about the presenters’ roles in the company and their personal journeys to working at Google. Throughout the presentation, we were encouraged to ask any questions we had about what they were talking about. Sarah, one of the presenters, told us about her experience working with Google and helped us understand a bit more about Cybersecurity and how her team helps clients. The other presenter Sofia explained to us about Data centres and how they are maintained. Later, we split into groups to play a game with questions about topics we had talked about, as well as interesting facts about technology and the internet. Overall, I found the trip very interesting and informative because we got to learn about several relevant topics and had the opportunity to ask experienced people questions, all whilst having a bit of fun.
